Frequently asked questions
How do I write a page range?
Use commas between entries and a hyphen for a range, like 1-3, 7, 9-12. A trailing hyphen such as 7- means page 7 to the end, and a leading hyphen such as -4 means the start through page 4. Reversed ranges like 9-5 are accepted and read the same as 5-9.
Can I split a PDF without losing quality?
Yes. Pages are copied across as they are, with text, vectors and images untouched. Splitting is a structural operation, so nothing is recompressed or degraded.
Can I split a password-protected PDF?
Yes. Add the file and enter its password when prompted. The password is used in your browser to open the document and is never transmitted or saved. The split files come out unprotected.
How do I delete pages from a PDF instead of splitting it?
Select the pages you want to keep rather than the ones you want gone, turn off Separate file per range, and split. The result is your document without the unwanted pages.
Is there a limit on the number of pages or files?
No page limit and no daily cap. A single PDF can be up to 100 MB, and splitting a long document into hundreds of single pages works — the only real constraint is your device's memory, because the work happens on your computer.
Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. The tool runs entirely in your browser. Your PDF and any password you enter never leave your device.
